Dave King is the journalist - in the photo at the top - who is doing 80 runs this year in aid of the Hampshire Autistic Society. A link is helpfully provided by 4th Gen.

Canna mind ye takin that one John! Dave n' masel were discussin wether we should go for the half marathon next year, we decided that I'll go for the half's and Davie can go for the marathons!!

SATURDAY MORNING. Big John arrives, hot foot from his farm in the hills above,
at the setting up of the half marathon course at Clochkeil, with a last minute call
to be allowed into the race..." I can do it you know, look I CAN do it.....let me in the race"
Upon being told that entries were closed he uttered the immortal words
"I COULDA BEEN A CONTENDER....."

At least BJ managed to complete the warm up in style beside oor Fiona28...he deserved a medal for that.

But John joined in with the setting up of the 400m corridor trough the dunes and made a great job of it.

This time Hendrie is saying "wish that 4th Gen fla would hurry up and take the picture"...
