I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the Golden Oldies that you have picked up on your rounds. You and the Poet should put yer heids together and see if you can produce a calendar of old Carradale and Waterfoot.

Oh Dear, I have to agree whole-heartedly with you on this one Mr Sanyanya. I was particularly disappointed in Morenish, but wouldn't put it past either of the other two.

However, I think that you are as deluded to almost the same extent as General Jack Daniels, in thinking that they would be generous enough to surrender the said goods to Gary.

What a lovely postcard and the original too Better than any from Tob. Lovely picture of clean, clear water, not like that cloudy muck they call Campbeltown Loch.

Is there any truth in the rumour that the council are looking for a blue flag and they are throwing poles from vestas over the peir. Alec you better watch your eastern european orphans. Just tell the council that you need them 'cause you're going shopping.

Aye bubbly, a postcard would be much appreciated. The next one doesn't have to be an antiquity. I think Gary nearly has the full set of Waterfoot now, ........well nearly, and you know what they say......Nearly never put a ship ashore!

I saw the big fella in the parade the other day. He didn't bother to get dressed up though; turning out in that Lithuanian wooly bear that he sleeps in when the oil drip stove is on the blink.

Is this you away looking at investments again? I expect your viewing executive apartments over in Pilton. If the price is right, it might be worth getting two or three, or maybe a small hotel. Are you expecting to be away long?

Morenish and I will jeest need to try our best at keeping Snoddy etc in order until you return. Did you hear that the goats have been misbehaving. I think Gary's website has been a bad influence on them. They've taken to wandering up and down the East side, reaching as far as Escart, demolishing a prized garden at Grogport on passage.

Mind you, they've decided that the grass isn't greener and have returned to the village to concentrate their mischief on the golf course.

I forgot to say I've written and suggested to the council about volunteer's for the water testing in the loch I put forward the stewed lemons I'm sure they would get the support of a wide section of the community.

Cover them in litmus and away they go. Though I think it best to leave the instruments on the quay along with the combat jackets with the fur hoods. Don't want the resident seal frightened off by the screchan.

I won't be gone long so hold the fort for a wee while. Just checking the offshore investments. I lost fifty pence on Davaaar and I don't want that KRAP lot to find it.

Just a wee coda to the Music Festival.

It turns out that Survivor's Night was not the first Kintyre gig for ex- Simple Minds bassist Derek Forbes who was here playing with A Few Good Men.

For those who remember that fateful night nearly 30 years ago, Derek was the main man in the notorious "Big D" (Don't want to upset the censors with their full title) who caused a wil' rumpus - a sit-in protest in the middle of the Village Hall by the curious locals who had come along with the sliperine and dancing pumps. If you were there, it was Derek who eventually unplugged the gear, got out an acoustic 12-string, set down himself on the stage and finished the night with an unplugged rendition of "The Lumberjack Song". Of course, us young guns who were inspired by the mighty drum solo on "Moby Dick" sat cross-legged on the stage in a gesture of solidarity towards the band. Since these halycon days, the Hall has seen precious little rock n' roll action. Maybe Derek should contact his old mates and re-connect with Trumpton once again?
