Mr Morenish, what on earth is going on here. I think that you need to make an appointment as soon as possible.

I was telling bobbly juck about his relations. Am I imagining it, or are you possibly a trifle Schizophrenic or just one of the same person, ie bobbly juck & Morenish?
Dr Snod Esq.

Two spoonfulls of Halibut-Liver Oil, Morning & Evening. You know the surgery hours, so don't bother me at any other time. I most certainly don't get paid enough.

Any resemblance to Snoddy's past and present are purely coincidental!

I'll put it as gently as I can Doc, but surely the above is proof positive that you have completely lost the plot? On the one hand you have all but admitted the bizarre, one-sided conversation we had at Easter when you blamed all the world's problems on my family background, and now you are asking poor Morenish, a long standing pillar of the community if he is in fact a plastic duck. Next you'll be telling us you're standing for the leadership of the Conservative Party. Get a grip man, before the men in white coats bow to the wishes of the majority of your patients and take you up the brae!

I'm My Own Grandpa

Postby dgraves » Thu Sep 01, 2005 7:04 pm

Dr. Snoddy's tale is a lot older than last Easter, Bobbly! I heard "I'm My Own Grandpa" 20 years ago at the Bar-D Wranglers, Durango, Colorado. Unfortunately, you have to pay to hear old Cy's version-funniest ever.

Here is a version you can hear for free:

If you are ever in Colorado, ol' Cy is the one you want to hear!!

Hi Dorian - I thought it was familiar.
If you trace the song back far enough you will find that it is a variant of the old Gaelic nonsense song "Tha mi mo Seannair" which travelled across the Atlantic with the good people of Danna when they left Campbeltown on the Clearance Ships bound for North Carolina.

If it wasn't written about Morenish then it should have been!
Trust Snoddy to get everything muddled as usual.

Colorado is probably a bit ambitious for me - I could be bobbing about in Campbeltown Loch for weeks waiting for the Right Wave. Besides, at my age I can just about make it down the burn when there is a full spate.......

Hi Bobbly,
I've found a good translation site for Gaelic, but I can't find a reference to "Danna". Who are you referring to? My grandfather's people also went by ship to North Carolina.
Thanks-
Dorian

Danna is (now) an uninhabited island at the entrance of Loch Sween near Tayvallich in Mid -Argyll

If I were you Gary, I'd carefully clamp a dandelion between your knees as well and hold on tight. Most certainly wear slip on shoes, and watch out for the farthing that Morenish will have strategically placed at the back of the memorial.

Gary, Gary, Gary. Please stick to the topic and avoid any mention of f-ball on this thread, or we'll have bubbly stravaiging round the site firiing pelters.

That will set bobbly off as well, and the domino effect will affect Morenish, Bochan and all the others.

What's happened to the Scouder? Hopefully his stings have all fallen off now and we'll not see him till next summer.
