It's surprising how quick th etides and storms can re-shape that end of the bay. Maybe if Mr Watt had got his jetty it wouldn't have been a problem.

i take it u refer to the last bit? might be a slight exaggoration, but to read wot i'm writing even with my five month old specs on i need to be a foot away from the monitor, getting re-tested next monday so hopefully they wont get any worse, might get better once i get blood levels sorted out better, three single figure readings so far today, hooray!!! better than the high 30's of two weeks ago, but seeing as i'm on "jellies" as well as the ten other pills, the euphoric side effects mean i don't care about sh!t,

this is hopeless i'm going to buy a magnifying glass tomorrow, i'm sitting with the monitor on my knee so i can read wot i'm typing, makes me the lucky one ha ha

sorry for being off thread. just bury me at the dogs graveyard

Good night of fireworks up at the football pitch last night, and burgers a-plenty.

The lantern parade was a bit of a damp squib though; the rain kept putting them out.

Do they say Gort in these parts?

Postby Whips & Jingles » Sun Dec 09, 2007 12:27 pm

What ever has happened to this thread? Do I take it that Elvis has left the village? I remember hearing the older fishermen talking of a thing called 'Gort', and I think it could be suitably applied to this thread. No Bochan, Snoddy, Morenish, Sanyanya or JDCarra. Where have they all gone? It's nearly as quiet as the square in Torrisdale. Are they all just busy at work, or hiding from the General, who seemed to be gunning for some 'Whuppersnapper'?

Somebody had mentioned in dispatches that things hadn't been the same since JD had his knees re-bored and devoured the whole of the cake that Francis presented him with from Muneroy Tearoom. I'm surprised that Snoddy didn't intervene and warn him against putting any more strain on his joints, never mind his heart. I doubt that the NHS would stretch to a re-run. That would blow Snoddy's meagre budget in one session. You would nearly need to go for respite care after such an event.

Perhaps he should head over to Morenish's place and see if he can organize a similar deal. A little bit of publicity wouldn't go a miss with some holiday makers due to arrive over the festive season. Mind you, Morenish's reputation goes before him, so JD may only get a bowl of soup in return, personally watered down by the big man from the perfect terrine created by Mrs Morenish.

It has come to my notice however that the public are still active enough to reach the EKCC meetings and that they have managed to wrong-foot the floundering and squabbling council on at least two occasions of late. Enter the self appointed Chairman and Secretary 'People Power' is that not what they say!

Soon be time to 'ring out those bells, wring Solstice bells'. I am looking forward with much relish to the lighter nights.

Aye, relish as in pickle, that's the only type you'll be enjoying when the councilors, Morenish and JD get a hold of you!

Bill Dodd was his name Ticketty, married to Molly the retired community nurse. Will drop you an "Antler", there,s a page about Bill in it. Get a yarn with you later.
