It is 128.9p for diesel in Wiltshire (near Swindon) both at Sainsbury's and at a local Esso station.

Although this is bad, at least I only buy about 60 litres at a time. Heating oil is now over 60p per litre (with 5% VAT). I have to buy at least 1000 litres at a time, or it is even more expensive. So that is a fill up of over £600 a time.

I wonder if my car could be converted to run on heating oil?

Here in Boston, at Asda, the price of diesel is £1-26.9 per litre, unleaded is £1-14.9. I think it`s the cheapest in Boston.

I think I've reached the final straw. Filled up the Sheik Mobile on Friday night. Standard family car (build in Sweden), not a 4x4 or anything and I was £104.58 to fill up. Admittedly this was with Shell V-Power Diesel, but that would only have added an extra couple of quid to the cost.

Over £100 to fill up a standard family car   The woman behind the counter asked me if I wanted a receipt, I told her I could do with a brandy and a seat, and also enquired if they did loans!

My biggest concern with all of this is that the fuel protests were when fuel was 40-50% cheaper than it is now - so why is no-one protesting this time? Do we all think it's a short term blip and it'll be back to 80p a litre soon? The problem is we're all getting used to paying this price, mumping and moaning, but paying for it none the less. The oil producing nations and oil companies probably can't believe they're luck. Yes indeed - the days of 80p a litre are long gone

The car goes in the Auto Trader on Monday, at least I've doubled it's value by filling it up

Noticed on the news today that the hauliers are protesting down South again today.
Was in Oban yesterday and for the first time I've seen - Campbeltown was cheaper  All of the fuel stations there were 1 or 2p more a litre - going to fill up here before it goes up again! On going to Glasgow and Fort William in the last couple of weeks I saw a lot less difference in price than previously, the cheapest was 129.9p for diesel (on the wrong side of the road obviously), seems like the rest of the country is catching up on our rural prices

Diesel is currently £1.329 where I live, but I can get it for £1.309 nearer work. Is costing me over £70 to fill up now. At 5 tanks a month just getting to work and back, that's a lot :( Thing is, I didn't appreciate how cheap it was when I was whinging about paying 86p a litre.

I remember coming up to Campbeltown one year and being incredulous at the price of £2.00 per gallon (44p per litre!!!) The cheapest I can ever remember paying since passing my test was £1.22 (27p per litre  ).

They seem to get away with bigger price hikes now it's in litres. Before the recent price hikes, a local rip off station upped the price of premium diesel by 5p per litre in one go. In the days of the gallons, would they have got away with a 23p per gallon increase in one go?

I know the fuel prices are already causing problems, but I get the feeling the price is inching towards a critical level. I'm not sure exactly what will happen if/when we tip over this level, but it won't be good...

 Oh dear, I'm gonnae get in trouble now for laughing at a poor wee man losing his family car

I was shocked when I read this. Only last week Mr Govangirl filled up his Swedish motor and it came to £90 and he moaned for an hour about how soon it would be before it would be over £100. Once it reaches that down here he's going to need counselling.

It was 138.9p a litre for diesel up here in Thurso when I grudgingly put £20 in the car on Saturday. It didnt even give me 1/4 of a tank!!!
I am not completely useless............................... I can be used as a bad example!

Its a pretty big issue over here as well - Australia for those who don't know.

I'd tell you about the prices but I don't know since I can't drive after the nice sheriff took my licence away.

I thought it was bad at 135.9 per litre of diesel when I left the town on Monday. I filled up for 129.5 in Glasgow before heading for the deep South. I'm now in the Midlands, about 20 miles north of Birmingham, and the average is 134.9, so maybe Campbeltown's not so bad after all.
