Read in the Herald today that Asda and Morrisons appear to be kicking off a petrol price war, dropping 3p and 4p respectively off a litre. Wonder if Tesco will follow suit?

We`ll be filling up at Asda down here before setting off up to Kintyre on Saturday morning, so we`ll at least start off with reduced price petrol. Can`t wait to get back to Muasdale again!

99.9 at the weekend in Stirling and noticed it was £104.9 at Lochgilphead on the way home. Don't know about the town, haven't ventured that far yet.

When I saw the sign saying 99.9 I thought great. Bought a bottle of 500ml Coke and they charged £1.14!!

So if they don't get you one way the robbing bastards get you the other way! It might be under a pound for a litre of petrol but it is now £2.28 a litre of Coke! (the cola stuff)

When we were up there in late July/early August we couldn`t get over the fact that unleaded was £1-16.9 in Lochgilphead and Campbeltown, but £1-22 at Clachan and £1-25 in Tarbert! Why such a variation within such a short distance?

Yesterday I drove Renfrew, Glencoe, Ft William, Invergarry, Spean Bridge, Dalwhinnie, Coupar Angus, Arbroath, Dundee, Renfrew. Total 378 miles!

97.9p in most major towns now. 105.9 at Ballachullish was the dearest that I saw.
