That wasn't easy tonight. Well done to everyone and that includes runners, organisers and helpers. Will have to step up the training for the next one. :roll:It was particularly hard looking for the solid sand, when it just wasn't there. Bring on some Terra Firma.

Echo that Rab ...it was a tough 3 miles along that deep soft sand , strange how you always feel good afterwards but feel like dying at the time. Well done to everyone and thanks to everyone who helped . Will definitely have to step up the training for the hills at Barr Glen .

Meeting Saturday 9am to do Learside hills if anyone wants to join us.

Yep, I really enjoyed the whole occasion, apart from the running bit! always hard hard work.
Verrry hard going on the outward 1.5 miles in the sand and into the wind, a big difference on the way back with the wind helping but it still seemed a long long way.
It was like one of these bad dreams trying to power towards the finishing line (table!) but the legs seeming to be stuck in glue.

Thanks again to DJD :D

Well done everyone epecially with the wind and the tide that was getting higher by the minute! The sight off everyone coming along the beach was amazing! Couldn't have been easy!

See you all in Glenbarr next month for some hills or is it just "A" hill??

If you go on Google Earth you can see the road reasonably clear!

But I don't care about your car!! No probs, the bill is in the post.

Tuesday night was really really tough. Sand was really soft and wind didn't help either. However, really really enjoyed the whole night and great craic again.

I have posted the DRAFT results from Tuesday that Donald sent to me. Please note these are just DRAFT and if you have any questions please contact Donald direct either by PM or by e-mail at donaldcampbell1@btinternet.com

I'll post the photos once the results have been firmed up. Well done to Kenny who managed to pip Alison right at the end - well done Alison too, that was a great run you had. Good to see Alasdair C too - how times have changed, I mind I used to whip you at the running! Not now!!

Thanks for posting the results Davie P ...looks like it was a tough 3 miles for everyone compared to Lussa . I still have flashbacks on how hard it was but really pleased with my time and position , ironicly better that Lussa . :D

Well done Alison and Kenny !

A few of us met this morning and headed to Davaar carpark to start our hill training for next months Barr Glen hills. :)

We started with a 1 mile warm up to sheep fanks then headed 1.5 miles up the hill towards the Learside turned and headed back down .... covering a tough 5 miles. Its a start .....

Meeting again Thursday Red Cross Hall 6.30 pm for anyone wanting to join us to do the Bengullion route.

Hi All just to confim the next race

Race 3

Venue. Barr Glen

Start Point The Bridge GR 690 373

Time 1900 hrs

Can people park at either just before the crossing of the bridge or at the Scottish Water Works entrance, which is approx 300m on the left hand side just past Skernish Farm, and walk down to the starting area please, approx 600m.

The reason being is l would like the route to be car free for 2 reasons, the first is for you the runners having a clear run and secondly for anyone taking photo's as you finish.(Great photo's could be taken half way up the hill too)

Could do with one more helper on the night if anyone is free or injured.

Thanks see you on the 25th (Hang overs should be gone by then from the MoK festival)

Hi Katie, sorry to hear about the knee injury,we all suffer sometime, but we all bounce back, just look forward to that.

Isla will be pleased that you can help her with the recording of the runners times as they cross the line, cos they will come in thick and fast now that the handicaps are more even.

Skernish Longrow- the run is all off road on the track starting from the bridge heading towards Blary Hill. You can either My Map it and have a look or Google Earth it,or even better go and have a test run on it,it's a great training run and you can even include the whole run up the glen, then the hill.

Hi All

if you would like a copy of your up dated handicaps, please email me at DonaldCampbell1@btinternet.com and l will send them across to you when its possible, that is if you would like to know befor your up for the next race.

They will be up on the board on the night as usual.

This will give Davie time to put them up on the web site and also when it's convenient for him.

Thanks
