Success for young Scott Souden in first season

Postby Kintyre Forum News » Wed Jul 10, 2013 7:33 pm

Thirteen year old Scott Souden recently rounded off his first season playing for Lochgilphead Red Star Under 14s in the Dumbarton Football Development League by picking up both The Coaches Player of the Year Award and The Players Player of the Year Award. The youngster, who stays in Campbeltown, showed huge commitment over the course of the season by travelling each week for training sessions on a Friday followed by competitive game on a Sunday. Scott was instrumental in his side finishing second in the DFDL League – losing the league title by only one point to Argyll rivals Oban Saints. Lochgilphead Red Star were also successful enough to reach the Final of The Under 14’s Dunbartonshire Football Development League Cup in May which was played at The Bet Butler Stadium, home of Dumbarton FC. Again, unfortunately they were runners up to local rivals, Oban Saints, the final score being 4-3.
