Glasgow based Bags of Rock, who take bagpiping to a new level, are coming to Campbeltown after some local LOUD MUSIC lovers saw the band headlining the Cowal Highland Gathering and thought they would suit Kintyre down to a tee.
Proceeds from the concert at the end of this month, will benefit three local charities. Argyll FM, Kintyre Schools Pipe Band Association and the Kintyre Cultural Forum will receive the proceeds from the concert in the Victoria Hall on May 26.
Bags of Rock, who headlined the Inverness Hogmanay party as well as playing at many of Scotland’s top venues, features the well-known mohawked, madcap celtic-rock guitarist Gregor ‘G-man’ James; the lone piper who performed to a televised audience of a billion people as the Dehli commonwealth games ‘hero piper’; the current solo world champion snare drummer on percussion and a rhythm section incorporating the cream of Scotland’s session scene.
