Erm . . . Had a closer look and I don't think those pics were taken at Hyde Park at all. I saw none of these side stands at London last year. They look like they were taken somewhere else! Don't like that!!!!!

Trust my luck to be working away from home since last Friday? I'm not back home until this coming Saturday , and my copy arrived Saturday AM!
Doesn't sound like you were to impressed with the cover GG , though I'm hoping you will be so kind to post one of your highly aclaimed reviews which will keep me going until the weekend?

I couldn't watch it last night but managed to fit it in tonight and actually saw us there!!!!!! Several times!!!!!!!!!!!
I only managed to watch the first half but that was exciting enough! I’ve lost a stone dancing tonight to the DVD (and probably a pint of blood as I stepped on Mr Govangirl’s whisky glass!!!!!) and honestly, it is FABULOUS! Absolutely legendary! Every single song here is delivered with such passion and continually shows he is in that moment! At times, when you stop to catch breath and begin to wind down, on comes a cracker, i.e. after ‘Trapped’ when Fallon comes on to duet on the fantastic ‘No Surrender’- and I had goosebumps during ‘Racing in the Streets’ I tell you. The picture and sound quality is magnificent. Well worth twelve quid!
Although you can’t get the same sense of community as being actually at the concert this is really the next best thing and for every second of this show you can tell how much both the audience and the band enjoyed it – sheer joy!
Take note, Bono in your hospital bed or Sir Paul or Sir Mick or any dude who thinks he’s the top man – Brucie is bringing it on stronger than ever and is still THE BOSS! THIS is passion, this is out of this world, this is pure exhilaration, this is delicious and beautiful and this is perfection! Buy this DVD and experience the high roads and the low roads, the ups and the downs, the light and the shadows, the sights and the sounds and the glory and passion of a brilliant concert (I am drunk on sheer exhilaration!). I can’t wait until I watch the second DVD in the package this week – Rosie, Born to Run, Jungleland . . . as long as I get my breath back and my bandaged foot gets better! This is a piece of pure musical art! The man is brill on CD but he really is best live and you’ll see why on this DVD. Even if you’re not a huge fan, you’ll love this. I have many DVDs of Bruce but honestly, this is the ultimate.
I swear to God that as highly as I hold this man in esteem, after this performance, I question if I hold it highly enough. I love you Bruce!

Thank you GG , just as I asked .... '' one of you highly aclaimed reviews '' , though you have excelled yourself this time!
I can't wait for Saturday, could it even be better than '' Live In New York City '' , it sounds like it will be.

How's the foot GG? I hope you are being spoiled and pampered by the owner of said whisky glass??
I was looking at the inside cover again this morning....I think it's RBS Stadium Dublin. There were low stands either side of the pitch and no stand facing the stage!?! Not sure when we are going to fit in seeing this dvd now....tennis, football, staff nights out, weekends, more staff nights out, visitors....... :!: Can't wait though - the review makes it sound amazing!

Not good Ags, had to go and get some butterfy stitches in it today as it wouldn't stop bleeding and I thought I still had glass in it (I didn't) and no, absolutely no attention whatsoever from the man of the house. Someone else told me it was Dublin :<> I just hope the dvd is as good as I think it is - don't want to get everyone's hopes up.

And is Rainbowsprite still with us?????? :?

Waiting patiently for Sheik's experience from last night!

Gaslight Anthem were superb last night.

The started with American Slang, title track from new Album, then back to a track from previous album, then another 2 from the new Album.

Then launched into a superb version of The '59 Sound. Fallon's stage presence is very reminiscent of a young Daltrey/Strummer, and his energy was fantastic. Their cover version of The Who's, Baba O'Riley (commonly known as Teenage Wasteland) almost brought the house down.

It was a sell-out at the Academy and Fallon seemed quite impressed by this on a Wednesday night in Glasgow!

Can't think that it'll be too long before they're playing even bigger venues.

Should be a good gig at Hard Rock Calling, hope you enjoy it Horse.

GG - hope the foot gets better.

Govangirl - Glad somebody else suggested the pictures are Dublin. As soon as I showed it to Iain the penny was dropping but he wasn't convinced...I'm sure it is :?
Gaslight Anthem sound fab Sheik.....this weekends task is to download some of their stuff! Enjoy your weekend Horse - remember not to spend that final £2 on a mouthfull of beer
And.......yes rainbowsprite - where are you? I have a dvd I must arrange to pick up from you at some point over the holidays :D
The DVD in this house looks like it may have been watched today but I came home to a lovely tidy house so WILL NOT complain that it has been watched without us!!

Sounds fab! I agree - a young Strummer (Queen of Lower Chelsea - very Clash influenced I think). My favourite at the moment is Boxer. Fallon is a poet, I love the lyrics. The song 'Old Haunts' reminds me of Springsteen's:

Now I think i'm going down to the well tonight
And I'm going to drink till I get my fill
And I hope when I get old I don't sit around thinking about it
But I probably will
Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture
A little of the glory of, well time slips away
And leaves you with nothing mister but
Boring stories of glory days

So don't sing me your songs about the good times
Those days are gone and you should just let them go
And God help the man who says
If you'd have known me when
Old haunts are for forgotten ghosts

And yes, it won't be long before they are playing in stadiums. Ags, I'd suggest starting with The '59 Sound.

I'll be watching the 2nd disc tonight :D Hubby will be safely esconced in pub. It's a sad moment in your life to watch a grown man lick whisky off the floor!!!!!!!

I've got to agree GG , it is the ultimate Bruce Springsteen DVD.
Watched it yesterday afternoon , with the amp turned up loud , blowing the dust out of my Missions!
What a day it must have been at Hyde Park , I'm so glad I managed to go to Hampden , but you must be over the moon GG as this will , especially if you can see yourselves , be a fantastic reminder if a unique concert.
'' American Land '' must have had all the audience in awe of the Boss, it is pure genius on the DVD . I bet you are so glad that you bought tickets for '' London Calling '' ?

The best £11.99 you will spend your hard earned money on , you'll not find a better '' Live '' rock DVD.

Now if Calsberg did DVDs they would certainly have released this as the quality of the visuals and sound is of the highest standard , plus it is from '' The Boss ''.

Got to agree - haven't had time to see all of the DVD yet but what I have seen is absolutely BRILLIANT!! Great memories of 2 fantastic concerts last summer. Trapped was a favourite from Dublin and quite new to me so brilliant to see it live again. C'mon Bruce - another tour...??

Phew, so glad you all agreed because I just can't rate it highly enough. I loved having both the stage and the crowd experience. Frosty, you're right about American Land but what gets me is that it is after THREE HOURS of powerful 'heart-stopping, pants-dropping, house-rocking, earth-shaking, booty-quaking, Viagra-taking, love-making - Le-gen-dary E - Street - Band!' Also, wasn't the prior Jungleland just awesome?

What album did you get Ags? And yes, another tour right enough! This time though, I think we should have a Boss loving forum members trip to wherever he's playing!
