Like Katya, I can't remember Deisel and Unleaded being the same price before - can anyone explain why the petrol price seems to have rocketed, but deisel not so much so?!

I was in Cardiff at the weekend and Deisel ranged from 101.9 to 104.9 so not too far off what we have here.

Infuriating that the motion was rejected in the commons when we have so little choice of public transport.

Well I was up the road today and can now confirm that Campbeltown has the most expensive petrol/diesel in mainland Argyll

Its getting out of hand and really going crazy  .

In Campbeltown on Wednesday past the County was 109.99 for unleaded and 107.99 diesel.Yesterday it dropped to 108.99    and 107.99.

Our local garage in Carradale was 105.99 and 107.99 at close of garage yesterday. On looking again whilst passing last night both were at 107.99  .

At Boston`s Asda yesterday it was 99.9 for unleaded, don`t look for diesel price, but at a TOTAL garage it was 102.9, all just in time for the main holiday season again!

We're heading for Kintyre next week.

Any updates on the cheapest place to refuel between Glasgow (close to the M8 Westbound) and Campbeltown at the moment ?

Don`t know about nowadays, but when we were up there last summer the Tesco garage at Lochgilphead was the cheapest in the area. Tarbert and Clachan were the dearest.

Once upon a time, 'not too long ago', a news bulletin on the radio or tv, would announce that the prices at the pump would increase by a penny or two pennies next week.

How times have changed

Its now a free for all and distributors are making the prices up off their own back

Their is obviously no regulatory body taking responsibility for the current SCAM, and WE the punters aren't going to do anything about it either,

so nae point moaning 8)

It also used to be a few pennies per GALLON, now it`s per LITRE, therefore much more per gallon!
100.9 for both unleaded and diesel at Asda in Boston today.

With the expansion of the old cremery site by Tesco, I am hoping that this will bring a new petrol station to "the toon" and thus create some competition with the fuel prices.

kind regards Jeff

It will....

Will be good to be getting a good rate after being robbed by Esso all these years.... + You will get your extra 5p of your litre after your spend in store....

In Maybole and Girvan last week.... 99.9p for Unleaded at Jet, penny dearer in Ayr....

Campbeltown was still some crazy 109p or something....

Having just come back from Glasgow I noticed the Tesco in Lochgilphead is £1.059 for both fuels. Hardly a big saving when the County is £1.069 & £1.079. I do know when they just opened in Lochgilphead they had much cheaper fuel to entice you in but it crept back up inline with surrounding opposition.

Pump prices dropped up in Dundee this morning by 4p a litre  8)

Petrol was £1.049 and Diesel was £1.059, both are now 99.9p a litre now, hopefully keep coming down.
To infinity & beyond, & even at that do one!!!
