Ooops wrong thread, meant to go into "what are you reading",but never mind .

Funny you should say that Allan as I too was given a poor report of the concert from a mate who was at Hampden.
Personally I think there is a huge difference between appreciation of Springsteens music, and actual infatuation of the guy himself. When you are infatuated with a person you can see no wrong.

Pete to my knowledge Springsteen is comming up for 60 not 70 which I am sure disbars you from "these younger men"

The video on the previous page of 'Working on the Highway' is just brilliant. I can never get footage like that. Was that off a camera? :<>

It was taken with Canon Digital Camera, I believe it was a PowerShot SD990, if that helps. It's a wee bit out of focus on Born to Run. The photos are as follows:

Fantastic photos SYE , thanks for posting them.

The ''Born to Run '' shot was probably subject to shaking due to all the dancing that was going on.

Definitely one of the best concerts I've ever been to and I hope there is some sort of DVD released at the end of this tour either one of the complete shows or a combination of the best from all dates.

I so agree with you Frosty. Regarding his son joining him on tour and who that other teen could be, can you imagine the conversation?
"I'm touring the UK son, want to join me onstage in Scotland in the school holidays? You can ask a friend if you don't want to come on your own."

I was reluctant to reply to this as was a bit worried you might have thought I was having a go LR but I'm not. I just don't agree  Actually, I might :@ but need a bit of clarification here. Do you mean his new music is better or his old stuff is better now?

I'm your real longtime Springsteen fan (certainly not infatuated, I don't have his pic as my avatar for a start  ) and I happen to think that he is one of a very few of the greatest lyrics writers of all time. However, I prefer to adorn my ears with 'Rosalita', 'Born to Run', 'The River', 'Thunder Road' and then 'Out in the Street', 'Badlands', etc. where the character within the songs was more believable. I still love and buy and play all the new stuff and there are often blinders BUT since Human Touch and Tunnel of Love, it hasn't been the same frankly. It's still a million times better than much of the other c**p that's on the shelves but not as brilliant as the old stuff. And THAT gets better the older I get! I'm sure it has a lot to do with the place Springsteen is in now - he's nudging 60 with a lovely family and a want for nothing millionaire lifestyle. He hasn't got all the angst and feelings of injustice he had when he was a younger man, that's for sure. I think he puts fillers on his albums now (example: Surprise, Surprise on the latest, a track that even The King Singers would be embarrassed about) but to me, it doesn't detract from his genius.

Anyway, phew! I just wondered if you were referring to his old or recent stuff!

No,I meant that his music style has progressed and not stayed as the old"Boss".I too like his early stuff as well as latest.

Springsteen played in Tampa on Saturday. Various friends and colleagues went and were very disappointed. Described as a "Rock Opera" and "snoozefest". Apparently none of the classics got an airing until the encore when half the crowd were in the parking lot.
OOH did they knock down McCaigs folly.....

Rosanne Cash duets with Bruce Springsteen on her new album.

You can listen to the track "Sea of Heartbreak " at the link below.
