my street lights haven't been working for weeks, can i claim a rebate? or maybe the electricity company switched them off when they were digging up the road the other week and forgot to switch them back on, just like they forgot to tell me they were sticking the power off in the first place. when i went outside to enquire about this, i was asked why i was a special case that needed to be informed, i replied that i thought it obvious, seeing as he was standing outside my gate at the time. apparently they don't have time to tell you if they are cutting the power, but you have plenty time to sit by a phone listening to endless recorded messages just so you can report a fault. luckily i had plenty time to make an official complaint about the attitude, and lo and behold what happens two days later? yes, they stick it off again without telling me.
sorry, bit off thread, but thought it was an example of the way the paying customer is treated and thats what you are with your council tax, if anyone thinks they are getting value for money let the rest of us know your secret?
